I just want you to know that I'm trying very hard to not wake up my entire building because I'm laughing so hard. I also want you to know that the more I think about the name Edge Maverick the more on board I am. I wouldn't actually do that to a child, but it's tempting.

Not sure I want to know what kind of manga you're reading that makes you do that loud.
Edge probably wouldn't be a bad name though, sounds kinda cool and edgy.

I wanna say thats a bad name for a kid because being edgy is cringe now, but considering how kids love anything wrapped in 70 layers of irony you could probably get away with it

Hagane for SNES...with save states. Lots of save states. It's really good but needs an easy mode.

Bomby reminded me to be on topic and say I'm playing Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Dororon! Yokai Daikessen!!, which is taiko but a lite-RPG now and also set in the feudal era.

Skyblazer SNES. I think I just suck at games because I need save states for every moment of most of them, except easy ones like Mega Man X.

oh, right, I should've stayed on topic
Anyway, I've gone back to Black 2 (still trying to catch 'em all) while watching the end of the Jingle Jam. Now that I'm home and such. Hadn't touched it since trading diaper birb for 1/3 of a Mewtwo army!

Beat Run Saber. It has a really perfect difficulty (if you give yourself extra lives) and is incredibly short, easily under an hour. After watching a review on Console Wars (good YouTube channel) comparing it against Strider I gave it a shot, and I'm surprised that it was pretty good. Definitely clunky and has some cheapness though.

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
Got Super Mario Maker 2 and Link's Awakening for Christmas, so I'm working on those. Also really tempted to get Atelier Ryza because I haven't played one of those in forever and the reviews suggest that series drifted back away from fanservice. It's been like a whole month since I got burned by trusting Cold Steel not to have that crap, so what could go wrong?
Oh also Taiko for Switch because I'm obsessed with this series, they finally added online competitive, and I realized I have enough store credit to get the Undertale pack for free.

^ saw "beat run saber" and processed it as "beat saber" and got really confused how that got on a Nintendo console.
I got Link's Awakening as well so I'll be playing through that. Also got Katamari Rerolled.

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
Finished "Ghost Sweeper Mikami: Joreishi wa Nice Body". It is a lot like Run Saber in that it has a good difficulty and is short. This one seems like it would have a decent story and presentation is not for the language barrier. I like the graphics and music more, it's a really good game overall.
I think it's interesting how some of the best games are obscure or Japanese exclusives, after the big ones like Chrono Trigger and Mario. SNES kinda makes you dig for stuff.

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
I've been playing Pokemon X every morning and evening on the train to and from work. It was my initial solution to the problem of "phone loses signal for 50% of the train ride", and has turned into me super training all my pokemon and raising a new team in the postgame and trying to suck less at battle maison. believe it or not i've never had a leafeon before. i love my leafeon. his name is Éevée. i have also never evolved a vulpix before because my dumb ass didn't know you need a fire stone for it, so let's just say i am learning a lot

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
Miracle Girls for SNES. It looks sickeningly sweet with its bright pastel colors, boringly cheerful music, cute anime girls, happy snuggly animal enemies you "attack" by feeding candy...but it all hides a deep darkness. A stiflingly cheap difficulty, cryptic mechanics, and screwed up controls (jump and attack are swapped).
I thought it was going to be easy but I actually rage quit the second stage...with liberal use of save states, mind you. It makes Demon Souls look easy.
