Slightly different format! Now, getting 2nd place gives you half of the credit a win does, and the points scale down from there, but now volume seems to matter more than just winning.

Nice. Played a few games tonight to get ready. Won 2 of 4. Feeling strong.

I tied my 30 wins from last time (3720 event points total).

Now I think I can relax tomorrow, but inevitably play a few more games anyway because Tetris is life

I'm at 2K. I'll feel pretty alright about my chances if I get to 3K, but I'm probably limited playing after GoT tonight.

My win rate recently has been better than 50%, and I believe it's because I'm playing more carefully in the late game. Before, I was playing too greedy and clearing down all the way to the bottom.* In the top 10, if somebody sends a back to back Tetris or similar combo, that can immediately take you from 0 to death if you're not ready to clear the line of garbage that just arrived. Because of this, I now always try to have 4-8 rows to do an emergency clear with (usually 1 wide with a held I piece, but sometimes 2 wide if I have something different held).

Also, when attacking, I intentionally stall my larger combos a bit, doing extra rotations before locking the piece in. This is so that all my attacks go through, since you can't have more than 12 rows of garbage queued at once.

I think my stacking is a little faster too, although I'm curious how I'd do if I used some kind of external controller that can map the buttons to a stick, rather than being stuck with the slightly uncomfortable joy-con buttons

*If you reach the top 10 with less than 100% power from badges, though, you kind of have to play greedy, because you really don't want to 1v1 with less than what the other guy has

Not quite. Overall, as of this post, it's 190/400 (47.5%). However, I won 58 of my last 100. If I can keep that up, I'll get there

Last night was a hot night!

Notable things:
- Terrible misdrops that I somehow recovered out of pretty quickly in the first game
- Having just 1 badge going into the final 5
- "Rotating" an O block on the ground to stall for time because this rotation system is still dumb
