When he was first diagnosed with ALS, the doctors gave him a few years. He kept on truckin' for over half a century.

He really did a lot for science (like explaining complex theories in layman's terms...that's something that few experts can really do). RIP.

Lived over half a century longer than he was given when diagnosed. Did more in that one lifetime than maybe dozens of others could do in theirs. A great scientist with a great sense of humor. He will be missed.
