If you had to play a board game for the next 24 hours, which would you choose? (Card games and rpgs are excluded.) :D

From this list? Battleship.

So long as you have someone making sure the ships stay on the board then it's a totally fine game.

Monopoly, specifically a special version like Pokemon or Nintendo.

I've always liked Monopoly.
Competition is a good thing. It's a chance to crush people.

From this list, Clue. I'd much rather play different games though like Lords of Waterdeep, Legendary, King of New York, Takenoko, Forbidden Island, Ticket to Ride, Dominion, Small World, Twilight Imperium, Terramystica, Last Night on Earth: A Zombie Game, Mage Wars, Roll for the Galaxy...that's all I can think of off the top of my head. (My friends and I have a board game obsession--this isn't counting dice games or card games.)Basically I'd want to play any game that a 7 year old couldn't pick up and play. (I worked at a before and after school daycare for 3 years where I played Sorry and Battleship and Stratego every. single. morning 5 days a week. It's not all it's cracked up to be.)

If I were literally required to play one of them for twenty-four hours straight, like why not choose any of them at all. They all start to lose their lustre about a half-hour in, and become no damn fun at all past the one-hour mark.

Suppose I'd choose Trivial Pursuit. I know some things, and I'm always interested in learning new things----------only thing playing chess ever taught me was 'I am not very good at chess'.

(EDIT: @User Name ...I will concede 'Last Night on Earth' is pretty hype.

You ever play that old 'Lord of the Rings' game, dove? It's a bad time. I mean, it's fun, but you are pretty much destined to lose. The rules are stacked so heavily in Sauron's favour. He's such a dick. Like, I never hated Sauron much reading the books, or watching the movies. He's kind of a non-entity. 'Bluhhh, big scary flaming eye.' Yawn. But playing against Sauron in the board game? Hate. Hate. He's just the worst. Total sh*tlord.

Like, you and four of your friends will spend an hour and a half playing the game, and in the end the game itself will win, and you'll all just end up sitting there, half bummed out and half hating Sauron's filthy, filthy guts.)

Nah, I've never played it. Is it a cooperative multiplayer game then? Those kind of games can go both ways. I think Sentinels of the Multiverse is a great one if you're into that kind of thing.

Yup. You play as the fat filthy hobbitses, making your way through the story. Game itself was the antagonist, and it always, always won.

You could probably find a copy on the cheap at Half-Price Books, if you feels like checking it out. They've always got a few. Like, the game hasn't anything to do with the movies, and the rules are extraordinarily complex--------clearly a lot of people bought it because of the movies, realised it wasn't their bag at all, and flogged it off at the earliest opportunity.

It's a really well-crafted game that will stomp on you with its hobnailed boots at every opportunity. If the success of 'Demon's/Dark Souls' is anything to go by, there appears to be a market for that. Play it or don't, damn you, it's all the same to me. What am I, the Lord-Regent of Gaming? Choose your own destiny, you wicked jungle-animal. Kids today. I could swear. (*stomps off, muttering, gesticulating wildly*)

Another Scrabble nerd! Do you play Words with Friends?

Also, pretty sure we've been playing Val's Catan for way more than 24 hours. :P

Not really. And honestly I've never really played Scrabble, but out of all the choices there it was the most appealing.
