If You Had To Choose a Trade

#1

If you were forced into a Trade of your choice, which one would you choose?

I'm currently in a 4 year apprenticeship for becoming a Electrician my answer is kinda obvious.

Makeup artist here I come.

I'd keep making jewellery professionally. Even looked into an apprenticeships once, but it's notoriously hard to get one as an adult.

My mom owns a salon. I love the people and interactions. It's a trade I could get behind.

Carpentry, for sure. I can do a fair amount of things just on my own and from my experience in set building for theater, but if I could have an apprenticeship and really develop it? Oh man.

Smithing. Something of a lost art today, but I did a bit of it up at camp, did a bit of it with my grandad, and it's a bit of alright.

I like grinding, and hammering, and sharpening. I like fire, I like working up a sweat, and something about working a bellows is profoundly satisfying. Working hard, breathing hard, whilst forcing a forge to work and breathe hard. It's quite a thing.

...got my grandad's anvil. Dunno what I'll ever do with it. But it's mine, now, and I love it, because I loved him.

Out of these, I could probably get into baking. Though if there was a trade in which I could get to use my musicianship skills, I would like to focus on that.

I'd choose some computer courses, game design or whatever. Maybe a machinist like my dad was, he wanted to teach me so I wouldn't mind honoring that in some way.

I voted carpenter, but it was between that and graphic arts. I love the idea of just professionally making things, but I already dabble in some graphic design. Here's something I just made this week for a site I'm working on.

I just want to do something I actually enjoy instead of just tolerate or outright hate.

I enjoy working on and building computers overall. I'd probably go for that or graphical work. I'm not really the tradie type, though.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying
