I love the smell of food cooking. That's what "home" always smelled like to me as a kid.

There's something about the smell of denim that's terribly evocative of 'home' to me. Takes me back to Saturday afternoons, sitting next to Mom on the couch, watching John Wayne movies and all.

Fresh coffee because it reminds me of my grandparents' house. They have coffee brewing the entire time they're awake.

I despise coffee but love it as a scent.

Coffee (where?!), baked goods (where?!?!??!), and bacon (omfg where?!?)...but most importantly, the smell of olive oil heating on the stove to saute vegetables in. <3

I went to the museum today and I was reminded of a scent that I really don't know what it is nor do I think it's really a "house scent" but whatever. Maybe it's something they use to clean the frames of the paintings. It's got this. . .I really don't know how to explain it. It's like. . .oil? Some kind of oily smell? I don't know if it's coming off the paintings themselves or something the caretakers do to them. But it's nice. And I wish I had that smell canned.

You know the smell of new (text)books? Smells good too.

And that smell when it has just rained. (That's not in-house though.)

And vanilla.
