Fruit mince pie? I don't even know what that is so cake wins by default.

Pie is always better than cake. I've made pie---------good pie, with apples and pears and currants, raisins and walnuts, and figgos and dates, and cinnamon, and lemon and orange zest. Cake? Cake is just weird bread. Phooey and ptooie.

I love carrot cake, and I want someone to invent carrot pie, because carrot pie would be so much better. I just know it, dude.

What about coffee cake? I think that's the exception to pie > cake.

Coffee cake is okay, but the best kind is the kind with the fruit in. The strudels and all. Is that not a concession to pie superiority? Having the actual fruit in, instead of just making the cake itself fruit-flavoured, right. Like, would you rather eat a jelly donut or a non-jelly donut?

Hey now, I love jelly donuts but a non-jelly donut with chocolate frosting is fine by me. They can co-exist, and laugh at maple bars.
