I'm not sure why this is such a popular rivalry. Vampires blow werewolves right out of the water. Man, werewolves aren't even on the same level as vampires. Give me a good ol' ghoul or spook or Frankenstein's monster over any werewolf.

Well ghouls are a whole other class. Vampires done right are some of the best material, though, and usually not expected and not written like 'i think its a dracula we need jesus' but more The Room in the Tower.

The idea of a skinwalker or changeling is particularly compelling as well, if done correctly. Shame the more kitschy monster movies are the foremost in the mind, but that's not the only thing to like.

I would have voted werewolves until recently because I hadn't really consumed any good vampire-related material, and as a result thought they were kinda whatever and werewolves were better because Twilight Princess.

That all changed a couple weeks ago. I read a really good... uh..... short story ((((fanfic)))) that did vampires REAALLLLY well and long story short I'm converted now. Vampires have potential to be really **** good. So vote goes to vampires, but werewolves retain an honorable mention.

No, but I played through the Curse of Strahd 5e module with some friends and died horribly in the Amber Temple, does that count for something?

((Curse of Strahd was an awesome campaign btw and partially set the tone for me to think vampires might be alright after all, then I read a good fic which confirmed this to be true))

My main touchstone for this discussion is Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which Oz was always one of my favorite characters. So I'm going with werewolves.
