So, not to derail the pizza discussion, but Taco Bell has a new item you guys should check out.

It's not on the menu--------gotta hit the grocery store. Dehydrated cheddar chips. They put 'em next to the Chex Mix and Gardetto's. They're great with hummus, or...like, port wine cheese spread, or almond swiss.

Haven't seen most of those pizza places (and I'm spoiled by local anyway) so I'll have to take your word for it!

Do any of you have an opinion on Papa Murphy's pizza?

I got some coupons in the mail and I can't remember if they're any good.

Papa Murphy's is good. Take 'n' bake, which is pretty nice. You can kinda add your own spin if you want.

Like half the ones in my list *are* local (4 to STL, 2 to Chicago); they just have multiple locations.

Hungry Howie's and Jet's are both Michigan chains but have locations in other states, mostly also in the Midwest. Another big Michigan chain is Happy's which is pretty good. Some people absolutely LOVE it but I don't really get it. It's fine.

i mean there's one by my house but seating in restaurants is shut down and i don't have a car for the drive-thru and even if i did leaving the house during a shelter-in-place order for a cheesy gordita crunch would probably be a new low for me

I could order it through a delivery service or something during self-quarantine but with higher menu prices, service charges and delivery tip I'd be paying like $17 for $5 worth of Taco Bell.

And if I do break down and order delivery during self-quarantine it should probably be for a local place that's at risk of closing rather than a chain that will be available after all this.

It's obviously a very minor thing in the grand scheme of things but dang

A cheesy gordita crunch really does sound good rn

You ever try DoorDash? I have a $5-off code for first-time users.

We DoorDash'd for the first time yesterday because my wife has been craving restaurant queso for 2 weeks, & they were doing free delivery for first-time users.

I've been making my rounds on The Delivery Apps myself. World of Beer is doing a thing I'll probably take advantage of whenever I get back to MD

I've used DoorDash and Uber Eats and Grubhub and Postmates for years already so I've already expended those $5 off and stuff lol

DoorDash and Uber Eats (haven't seen anything about the other two) are waiving off delivery fees for local restaurants during this so honestly getting like a good bar burger or the local chinese place (which got hit hard before this even started because racism) or authentic Mexican delivered is probably cheaper than Taco Bell/McDonalds/Burger King at this point.

^Well, the local Chinese place has its own delivery guy, no app or account necessary.

It's more just faulty logic than racism to avoid Chinese food right now. Speaking of which, maybe I'll have some tonight.

Broke "only doing takeout/delivery from local places" for a popeyes spicy chicken sandwich today

It's still incredible. Absolutely amazing that a fast food sandwich is this good.

I don't particularly miss fast food-------I miss the greasy spoon diner on the corner. Used to eat there two or three times a month (breakfast, lunch or friday night fish fry). They don't do takeout, and even if they did, I don't go to Ted's for the food---------I go there because I like the location and staff and decor and friendly atmos and all. It's cozy. The food is good, don't get me wrong, but that's just the cherry on top.

boo in this thread and other threads you've mentioned specific local places that both of us have been to and it always freaks me out knowing that we may have interacted unknowingly
