Yeah, I did some research on that after learning about it, and it's definitely a much bigger thing than what I could imagine!

Re: What Did You Learn Today: Kewl Fact$ Edition
I tell you what I learned today. Like, Keebler's Coconut Dream cookies are literally the same thing as the Girl Scouts' Caramel DeLites. They are made of the same ingredients, in the same factories, on the same machines. Likewise with Keebler's Grasshoppers and the Girl Scouts' Thin Mints. Girl Scout goodness is evidently equivalent with Keebler Elf tree-magic. Who knew.
So, the obvious question----------where the hell is Keebler's iteration of the Girl Scouts' Peanut Butter Patty? That's what people want. And by people I mean me. Possibly others as well. Who cares.
...I want Peanut Butter Patties. Always.

"Nibling" and "nephling" are gender-neutral terms for niece and nephew.

Jingle Bells was originally written for Thanksgiving, not Christmas...

Male reindeer usually shed their antlers in winter, so the reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh are more than likely female...

Re: What Did You Learn Today: Kewl Fact$ Edition
I learnt about New Year traditions and superstitions!!
One that I inadvertently fulfilled... "making loud noises on new year scares the evil spirits away"!! I was rather noisy singing loudly...

The English word "flak" is borrowed from an abbreviation of the German word Fliegerabwehrkanone ("anti-aircraft cannon").

...I mean, it only makes sense there'd be more than one. Like , '"captain" is an awesome title. Far better than Sturmbannführer, anyway.
[EDIT: I mean, don't get me wrong, Sturmbannführer is an awesome title, ignoring the historical implications.]
[EDIT2: Took me about a hundred tries to spell 'Sturmbannführer' right. I'm flippin stupid, man.]

The Dingo Fence in South-East Australia is the world's longest fence and was originally built to stop rabbits spreading across Australia. The rabbits laughed and proceeded to invade the entire country within 50 years!! Luckily, the fence became useful to stop the dingoes eating all the new livestock brought into Australia!!

A federal courthouse in L.A. houses a sexy af statue of a young Abraham Lincoln, commissioned in 1939.
