Spider ball in Metroid II was just plain awesome. It really shows how dedicated the devs were to designing around giving the player amazing abilities.

The last Metroid is in captivity. The Galaxy is at peace.

97%...missing one Super Missile upgrade. Not sure how motivated I am to go back through the entire world to find it...

I would be playing this more but I just got the Fall for 2 bucks and it is one of the best games I've ever played.

^Ive heard good things about The Fall. Speaking of other Metroid-style games, Have you played Headlander, AI?

Also, turns out I'm missing 2 missile packs and a Super. At least my search isn't quite as needle-and-haystack now.

I'm finding it difficult to work up the motivation to play because I can't stand what they did to the metroid fights. They're just soooo annoying and they're kinda supposed to be the point of the whole game? Not even hard. just annoying.

Yeah, I feel that the Metroids' behavior is not open enough to really feel appropriate for the game. I deal with them in the same manner I do lava when it's in my way - just take the damage and shrug it off.

I found that I could tank Metroid damage until I got to Zetas. Then I started dying.

*The clear time doesn't reflect that I used a central location and save-warped back to it very frequently. Probably more like 6 hours

You guys would despise Alphas on Hard Mode. Probably the hardest breed.
