I re-started Mario Odyssey and loving it all over again. I also just downloaded Shantae: Half-Genie Hero and Blossom Tales, and looking forward to playing those.

@Apollo the Just I sort of want to buy all the old JRPGs and just start going in on them. I was interested in dumb games when I was younger. I definitely missed some greats. Any recommendations? Come one come all!

Gamecube, DS, Nintendo 64. That's all I have for now. I know I probably missed a boatload on the DS and Gamecube.
I've never once played a fire emblem game. Does that make me a bad person?
I'll have to pick up ToS if you're still playing it in 2018 lol.

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
The GameCube was actually pretty weak as far as JRPGs go. Skies of Arcadia is the only traditional JRPG I'm aware of that's still held in any particular renown. ToS deviates from the formula in terms of combat, but is definitely still a JRPG. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is a very good RPG made in Japan that has almost nothing to do with the usual JRPG model.
The N64 is even weaker. The original Paper Mario might be the only one of note.
The DS, however, is one of the best JRPG systems bar none. You've got access to ports of (sometimes via the GBA slot) for every Final Fantasy game up to VI (I-III don't really hold up, but VI is still one of the best games period) and Chrono Trigger. The GBA slot also gives you the original releases of Pokemon Gen III, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Golden Sun, and more. Then actual DS games give you Pokemon up to Gen VI, Radiant Historia, The World Ends with You, Dragon Quest IX, and more Golden Sun. Strategy JRPGs include Final Fantasy Tactics A2, a Disgaea port, and the Devil Survivor games, of which the second might be my favorite SRPG ever. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon even brings in a roguelike.
Also, you get Summon Night: Swordcraft Story through the GBA port. It's very arguably not an RPG at all, but it's one of the best GBA games out there and is a JRPG in spirit, so it's worth checking out as well.
tl;dr: The DS JRPG library is legendary. You could get years out of it.

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
My old DS has been sitting for so long its all banged up from being in drawers. I think I'll buy a 3Ds at the same time because that's another system I want. The World Ends with You looked pretty good. I was playing dream drop and was wondering where they came from at one point. I'm definitely interested in Dragon Quest, Tactics and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.
Thanks for the list.

I'm finishing up an old DS game called Lost Magic. I had it for so long and only now really played it and I'm on the final chapter.

I just started playing Dark Cloud again. It's aged pretty well considering the number of dungeon crawlers that exist.

Octopath Traveler. I'm nowhere near far enough in to make any comment on the quality of the game itself, but it'll definitely be a contender for soundtrack of the year.
It's really cool to see an orchestral score go for a similar vibe to classic JRPGs.

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
Taiko Switch came out today. The motion controls will take some getting used to, but it's otherwise as much of a blast as Taiko always is.
It's getting an English patch later this month and presumably a Western eShop release after that, so it's worth checking out even if the language barrier would normally be a problem. The Japanese version also has a demo available now - it's the second button from the top on the game's eShop page. You'd need a Japanese account, but those are super easy to register.

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
I finally started playing FE Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. I can definitely see why it's not seeing the love that Awakening got, but so far I'm enjoy it far more than Fates. I never played Gaiden, but from what I could see it was considered even more of a Fire Emblem Black Sheep than Thracia or the DS remakes were. Like I said, I didn't play Gaiden, so I'm not exactly sure how faithful this game is, but I did hear that a good portion of the soundtrack are remade themes, and I love that. The soundtracks of all three 3DS games has frankly been fantastic.
I've also been thinking of going back and playing all of the FE games in preparation for Three Houses. I've still never played the first three games, so that'll be tough to get through, but the prospect of re-playing Genealogy, Thracia, and the three GBA games will probably be enough to get me through it.
