Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
I'm sure part of my disappointment is because having NieR: Automata's gameplay director made me expect something like that in the back of my head even though AC was obviously never going to be that game. But I also don't think it's a particularly good game even without the burden of that expectation. I kept thinking it'd finally hook me later on, because plenty of great games have a slow opening, but at this point I'm on something like Chapter 7 and I'm still not engaged for most of the time I spend with it. Can't imagine I'm missing much if I call it quits now.

Trying Super Mario Maker 2. Unsure if it's a software glitch or hardware issue, but Mario only jumps to his maximum ability even if I only tap the jump button. If that's intentional then the game is garbage, otherwise it seems fun desite the crappy story (I mean, at least Peach isn't kidnapped but the presentation sucks).

^ not sure how you're having your issue but that's definitely not supposed to happen considering how many levels I've seen that purposefully make players do short jumps to avoid overhead spikes

I'm currently reliving Link's Awakening while also going back to do the second run through Untitled Goose Game to complete the extra challenges. There is something really liberating about running around a village as an ******* goose, honking and causing chaos to no end.

I downloaded MLB The Show last night because it's free on Playstation. They let you play a game while you finish the install so I said why not? Pitch a perfect game until the bottom of the 9th. There's 2 outs and my second basement misses a soft ground ball for an error and guy goes to first. I immediately closed the game and cancelled the rest of the download. I don't need that kind of negativity in my life.

Re: What Nintendo game are you currently playing PtII?
Got a few things going right now.
-Playing through Link's Awakening with my daughter. It's the first game she's ever taken interest in, and I'm not letting it go to waste. I've beaten it on normal and hero mode, and this is my third playthrough (normal mode again).
-Sometimes she wants me to play Mario instead of "Link," so I have a SMW file going right now as well. Going for 96 exits, I just finished Choco Island.
-My wife has been enjoying Untitled Goose Game with me, so I'm going through and trying to complete all the optional challenges. I only have the speed runs left, and I'm not sure if I'm going to finish them because they seem more frustrating than fun at times.
-I've been listening to the Shovel Knight soundtrack a bunch, so I went back and played Shovel Knight and then just finished Plague of Shadows. I plan on doing the Plague of Shadows challenges first, since Plague Knight's movement and combat is so stupid and specific and I have the muscle memory for it right now. I'll move on to Specter of Torment when that's done, and then probably move straight on to King of Cards if the timing's right.
-Aaaaaand I have a Blue Lions run of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I'm only on like chapter 3 or 4. This is a lot harder to just jump in and play, and I'm not sure I'll play it to completion, but I'll have it there if I get the hankerin'.
I have Obra Dinn on Switch now and I plan on playing that very soon. Luigi's Mansion drops next week, and then the next big purchase after that will be Pokemon.

Dude honestly I’ve tried stealing from the shopkeeper and I can’t get it to work. I never did it in the GB version so I don’t know the trick to it.

Really tempted to buy Ori on Switch, but I 1. Already have it on PC and 2. Should save money for Luigi’s Mansion and Pokemon
But......at the same time....ORI

Playing Super Mario World. I really don't see how people think it is better than SMB3. The overworld map is better though, in that it is all connected as one "world". Yoshi is really cool too, but underutilized.

^SAME.
btw, I finished all Shovel Knight campaigns.
1. Specter of Torment is head and shoulders above the other two
2. Plague of Shadows is fine, but too chaotic
3. Shovel Knight is a treasure
4. Cannot wait for King of Cards

Restarted 'Last Spectre' yet again on the train Sunday. Maybe this is the time I stick with it through to the end.

Dropped SMW for Congo's Caper. Clunky and repetitive, but fun enough. It was pretty short, which is nice.
Now I'm trying to give Super Metroid a proper shot. This game begs for L2 & R2 though, the controls are just too clunky with just the SNES buttons available.

I am playing and enjoying two games on the very opposite ends of the platformer spectrum: Yoshi's Crafted World and Celeste
